Bengaluru girl refuses to pay Rs 30 extra, auto driver hits her thrice

BENGALURU: A private firm employee was allegedly attacked by an autorickshaw driver here when she refused his demand for extra fare.

Further, when she called the police helpline, operators allegedly told her: "Come to police station, we can't come to you."

The driver, Rizwan Basha, hit the woman four times but onlookers didn't come to her rescue. He is also affiliated to Ola Cabs service. Although it didn't happen when he was on duty with Ola, the operator said it terminated the driver's service from its platform.

"Though it did not happen on a ride booked through Ola app, we have zero tolerance for such behaviour. We are working with the customer to share all driver information, so as to help her report this incident to the authorities. We are committed to the safety and security of all users of the Ola app at all times," said Ola Cabs.

In her complaint posted on the Ola Cabs Facebook page, the woman said she got into the autorickshaw on the condition she would pay by the meter. But he demanded Rs 30 extra once he started going to her destination. When she protested, he got angry and shouted, "Chal utar."

When she said she'd complain to autorickshaw drivers nearby, Basha verbally abused her and stopped his vehicle. "He got off the autorickshaw and forcefully tried to drag me out by my wrist," she wrote on the social media site.

She called 100 from her mobile phone and started explaining the situation but the driver stood next to her and abused her loudly. She claimed police personnel didn't bother about her complaint. That's when the driver started hitting her on her arm.

"He had hit me hard about three times by now and I was scared. I started screaming for help and people gathered around as if I was a circus monkey and this master was trying to tame me by hitting me. No one came to my rescue," she wrote.

Just hours ahead of Apple Watch pre-orders, Apple made the unprecedented move of announcing restricted supplies. In a press release, Apple retail chief Angela Ahrendts warned potential customers that Apple expects "strong customer demand" to "exceed our supply at launch."

Because supplies are limited, all Apple Watch orders must be placed online. Apple does not plan to accept walk-in orders of the Apple Watch in the early weeks after launch, so customers planning to purchase a watch should order as soon as possible.

Wait times will only grow longer as people attend try-on appointments in retail stores and place pre-orders. Try-on appointments begin today, giving customers a chance to test and wear the Apple Watch ahead of its April 24 launch. Customers who already placed early orders for the Apple Watch will see April 24 delivery dates for some models, while customers who order today will need to wait several weeks to get their new Apple Watch devices.

Try-on appointments can be scheduled through Apple's concierge service, both online and in the Apple Store app. The try-on appointment system is currently experiencing difficulties and may be down for some users.

New Windows 10 Mobile screen shots show new task switcher , new selection bars, Word as mail editor and more

WindowsMania.pl, who always gets their hands on the goodies first, have posted some more screen shots of Windows 10 running on what I assume must be a phablet.

Windows 10 for Phones
An interesting screenshot is of the "Choose an App" selection screen, which shows the OS assigning additional storage a drive letter (as one would expect on their desktop/laptop). This likely could be a pointer to support for external storage.
As well as visual changes in the leaked screenshots, the unreleased build also seems to be taking some of the editing functionality of Word and adding said features to apps like email. From alternating between different headers to implementing a table style, Microsoft is clearly looking to bring across formatting features from Windows to the phone.
In the company's bid to bridge the gap between the desktop OS and Windows-based Phones, it makes perfect sense for Microsoft to go down such a route.
Windows 10 Phones
Everything appears to look clean and inviting. Though we're still in early days and things could change between today and the final build for public release. What do you make of the new changes to Windows 10 for Phones? Sound off your thoughts in the comments and head to WindowsMania.pl to see more screenshots.

Their screen shots demonstrate some new features, including having groups of apps on the task switcher page, the ability to select to still receive MMS messages even when your data is disabled, a new date and time picker, new cut and paste selection bars, and using Word as an email editor, suggesting we may see the updated office suite in the next Technical Preview.

Paul Walker tribute in Wiz's 'See You Again' video is a touching goodbye

In Wiz Khalifa's emotional "See You Again" video, the rapper and featured singer Charlie Puth pays tribute to Paul Walker's life and his Fast and Furious career with a string of the late actor's final scenes from Furious 7.

"See You Again" is on the Furious 7 soundtrack, and the song helps close out the movie along with a Walker montage.
Walker, who played undercover agent Brian O'Conner in the Fast and Furious films, died in a car crash in 2013 in Santa Clarita, California.

The "See You Again" video is the latest tribute to Walker since his death. The Fast and Furious franchise previously celebrated his life in 2013 with a YouTube video set to Diddy and Skylar Grey's "Coming Home."

SpaceX releases 4K launch footage that will blow your mind.

Elon Musk's SpaceX released gorgeous Ultra HD 4K footage of rockets launching on Thursday, featuring spectacular shots of its Falcon 9 rocket from all different angles.

The footage comes just days before SpaceX will attempt to land a Falcon 9 on a floating platform in the Atlantic Ocean. The test, scheduled for April 13, will be the company's latest attempt to successfully land the aircraft, following an unsuccessful attempt in January.

Whatever the outcome, at least it looks incredibly cool.

background image in mail app windows 10
The new Mail and Calendar apps also have option to change background image inside app to the one you like.

It also further serves to suggest we will in fact get our hands on them in the next build. Considering we only just saw build 10049 in the fast ring with Project Spartan, as well as the first look at the new Music and Video apps, it's clear Microsoft is beginning to step up the features at a significant rate.
For now, we sit and wait.

Things You Should Start Doing Now If You Are In VIT University.

1) Learn the skill of networking

Look around, you will find a lot of people you find interesting, those who you would like to know.Rather than hearing more gossips about them, its better to talk, know and form an opinion on your own. Meet and learn from people who are doing good in the fields that interest you.

2)Improve your communication and organizing skills

Nothing better than being associated with a club/chapter,which one isn't that important.Just be more involved, learn team work, host some events, remove your stage fear, stop fearing being judged.Being a co-coordinator in Gravitas/Riviera can be helpful if you want to be manager or organizer in the following years.

3)Try to improve your computer skills

How does Photoshop work, poster designing, presentation skills, keep a track of notice boards-you never know there is an event that intrigues you.You are never too old to learn.

4)Take time to go out for lunch with friends and make some memories.Watch some movies too. Make sure that is not the only thing you do.If you haven't spent time with people other than your bf/gf and spent all your weekends only watching 'Game of thrones',you have better options.

Try new electives (make sure the professor teaching it is good). By doing electives you will get to know new areas apart from your core courses like : Neural Techniques, Robotics, Advance Control Systems etc.

6)Join Topcoder, Codechef, Projecteuler, Codeforces, Spoj - especially if you are from CSE, IT software engineering or anywhere remotely related to computer science field.

And don't just create an account - visit regularly, learn and start solving problems. Keep your mind sharp - Mind is like muscle - you keep it in shape by exercising regularly.

7) STAY IN SHAPE. Exercise. Walk. Hit the gym. Play a sport. Wrestle with friends. Have sumo fights. Or just run in the morning and evening. Or probably, wake up just 5 minutes before class and run like hell to class. Take classes in different buildings if that'd help.

But, stay in shape. The metabolism you help your body build and get accustomed to, NOW, in college life - you will thank yourself for that, when you get to work - where you ll be spending most of your time sitting. If you start building your body now - it will come as a habit when you leave college.

Do cardio. Lift weights. Get the body of a spartan - shed some sweat and you will shed the extra flab along with that.

This applies to girls too.

If you wanna be happy, tie yourself to your goals and dreams and not to people.

Put your mission and your self growth above everything and everyone else.

Last but not the least -

Follow your intuition - be above the influence - and pursue what you are passionate about. Only a very few people live. Others merely exist. You are here for a reason -so, find out what that is, and pursue that with all your might.
